By chosing the first alphabet of her name ’R’, Robab Moheb shades the circle around her thoughts on her own life. ’R’ is a retrospective to herself and ’herself’ a circularity, with a radius that once collapses into a point, an infinitesimal point: a zero resulting from life, a zero which is not futile. A zero has an inner momentum which is infinitesimal but infint. And she, is exactly scarced about this introvert infinity. In the broad horizon of her zeros, she raises questions and does not find to the answers ”what am I searching for on the riffs?” Robab Moheb applies a terminological series, words which all start with ’R’ and rotates the poetic flow into a meditative climax, and opens new perspectives. The semiology of words, the semantics of the verses and the collage of the poems into a whole curriculum is conducted by the pulse of a unique alphabet in her world: the ’R’. ’R’ is a symphony with its own rules of harmony pacing with life and death of the composer herself. ”take the ciphers but not the zero / take the sound but not the silence /.../ I silence by the zero and view by the sound.../” she writes, and at the end her way remains to be one breath, and her breath only ”the spirit of all her images and shadows”, nothing else than the initial circle.

Marsyas - Anja Utler

mârsyâs dàr éhâtéh

Anja Utler (tr. Sam Vaseghi)

The cycle that is presented here revolves around the satyr Marsyas, the challenger of Apollo, to whom he subsequently succumbed in a musical contest and as a result was skinned. In ever-shifting approaches, Utler dissects Marsayas’ defenceless and suffering body, removing him from the piercing gaze of Apollo. The text styles Marsyas as having a poetic-phonetic ‘oneness’ with himself and his environment ...

Cinema Mihan

Fereydoun Moezi Moghadam

"Cinema Mihan", means "Homeland Movie Theatre" in Persian, but saying it in an ironic tone in Persian or Farsi, the language in which this book is written, it also means "Spectacular Homeland". "Cinema Mihan", written by Fereydoun Moezi Moghadam, a socio-cultural old student and writer, also a professional "cinéphile", is not a book on Iranian cinema...

àz zehdâne mâdàràm tâ bâbe tàmsilât

Robab Moheb

The title of the book ‘From the Uterus of My Mother to the Subject of Allegories’ articulates the ‘book’ itself. With the preface ‘a letter to my mother’, Moheb draws her inner journey from nought to nought. This, her journey is not just a tour of gentility and weariness. Moreover, she dives into her daily experiences, into mirrors, that talk nonsense.
