Price: €13,29

„tango solo“, is a collection of poems on the circumstance of „solitude“. However, the poet exceeds the limits of common clichés and approximates complexity by simplicity. „solitude“, in these poems, does not find shape in common forms: here „solitude“ is created in the space of sex and black humor.

In „tango solo“, Pourmohsen discloses „himself“ to the reader. However, this „himself“ is not only limited to his person as an individual. „Nihility“ in a general context and the invalid existence of the individual, society, politics and culture, are the momentum of Pourmohsen’s poetry. In his poems, you will not encounter the beauties and beasts, you may expect. All characters, even beauties and beasts, pay solely tribute to „nihility“:

half a day, “solitude” in mind, then half a day your “solitude” in mind

„tango solo“ tells a story of the collapse of the social existence of people, of a nation, that is constrained by tradition versus modernity: their values collapse in a vacuum and whatever is called „solitude“ or not becomes the transcendence of „solitude“. At this point humor is exit:

´ feel cold / ´ fall in snow / ´ feel warm

Marsyas - Anja Utler

mârsyâs dàr éhâtéh

Anja Utler (tr. Sam Vaseghi)

The cycle that is presented here revolves around the satyr Marsyas, the challenger of Apollo, to whom he subsequently succumbed in a musical contest and as a result was skinned. In ever-shifting approaches, Utler dissects Marsayas’ defenceless and suffering body, removing him from the piercing gaze of Apollo. The text styles Marsyas as having a poetic-phonetic ‘oneness’ with himself and his environment ...

Cinema Mihan

Fereydoun Moezi Moghadam

"Cinema Mihan", means "Homeland Movie Theatre" in Persian, but saying it in an ironic tone in Persian or Farsi, the language in which this book is written, it also means "Spectacular Homeland". "Cinema Mihan", written by Fereydoun Moezi Moghadam, a socio-cultural old student and writer, also a professional "cinéphile", is not a book on Iranian cinema...

àz zehdâne mâdàràm tâ bâbe tàmsilât

Robab Moheb

The title of the book ‘From the Uterus of My Mother to the Subject of Allegories’ articulates the ‘book’ itself. With the preface ‘a letter to my mother’, Moheb draws her inner journey from nought to nought. This, her journey is not just a tour of gentility and weariness. Moreover, she dives into her daily experiences, into mirrors, that talk nonsense.
